FERGIE HAS A WORD
Wednesday, April 25th, 2012Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has revealed that he has had a word with midfielder Ashley Young after the former Aston Villa midfielder’s antics has left him with a reputation of going down to easily.
Ashley Young has always been considered as a player who goes down easily even from his Watford and Aston Villa days, but he has been getting more of reputation due to the media attention on Manchester United.
It is something that Ferguson acknowledges, but says that he expects Ashley Young to correct his ways in the future. The former Manchester United captain Bobby Robson also said that it is easy for Ashley Young to get a reputation as a diver at Manchester United.
Ashley Young won two controversial penalties in the space of a week in the matches against QPR and Aston Villa. In both matches, Manchester United won largely due to the influence of the penalty. However, Ferguson has said that Manchester United did not complain in the match against Wigan where a number of decisions went against them. A lot has been said in recent weeks that big clubs always get the decisions in their favour, but Ferguson has said that the Wigan match proved that it is certainly not the case.
